MARKETS / FEATURED PROJECT
Semper High Service Pump Station
Westminster, CO
Project Overview
While this was a traditional Design-Bid-Build project, it was very coordination-intensive for all parties, as most of the project work was at the Semper HSPS, which is responsible for delivering 80% of the City of Westminster’s water used in the city.
The work required multiple partial and full shutdowns of the pump station and NW WTF. Shutdowns had to be limited in duration to allow for the chlorine residual levels to remain in the water supply. Coordination with the Semper Water Treatment Plant operations was also critical in the success of this project, as the plant could not send water out during shutdown periods.
During startups, the water treatment operations staff worked hand-in-hand with us to test and operate all new features, with an emphasis on the critical SCADA integration of the HSPS. Unforeseen site conditions added to the complications of the project but created an opportunity to collaborate with the engineer and city to find the best value solution for the project and problem-solve as a team. Westminster project, including City codes, policy, procedures, and regulations.
